Heed ALL Bear Warnings

Lesson One: If there are bear warnings posted around a campsite, it's good to heed those and to actually presume that there are bears, rather than think that there are no bears.

Lesson Two: Put food and trash in trunk of car or in an elevated position, as to keep the bears out of the food, and out of your campsite.

Lesson Three: Don't wear clothes to bed that you were in while grilling food the night before.

Lesson Four: Don't keep food in your tent while in bear territory.

Lesson Five: Don't go camping by yourself, especially without any guns.

These lessons combine to bring you the sum total of my experiences at 3:00 a.m. Friday morning. I was awakened by the sounds of a very large animal going through my cooler, which was outside my tent. My mind quickly, or as quick as a person is at 3 in the morning does, went over the above lessons that I chose to disregared. I sat in my tent for about 15 minutes until the bear moved far enough away from the tent so I could run to my car.

Lesson Six: God takes care of his children. :)
